"Canada Needs More Cricket"

“Canada Needs More Cricket” was TD’s campaign to amplify its long-standing support for Canadian cricket, coinciding with Team Canada’s ICC T20 Men’s World Cup debut and cricket’s inclusion in the 2028 Olympics. Targeting South Asian and other cricket-loving communities, such as Caribbean Canadians, the campaign leveraged the well known cricket phrase “Howzat?” (an abbreviation of “How’s that?”) – an appeal to the umpire to check if an opponent is out of the game. The term was one all cricket fans could understand, regardless of their fluency in English. The film showcased cricket moments across Canada, featured Cricket Canada players and highlighted the various ways TD is supporting the sport.
